Fed up

seriously, there are several major players in the whole forums, the ones with most of the answers....

80 percent of the questions that are posted are never truly answered, you either A. Refer to the installation guide which is out of date, B. Refer to doing a forum search (which leads me to believe you haven't done any of those yourself for some time, and don't see the 100 pages of forums to read through), or C. Don't answer at all in any way, shape, or form.

The ones developing are doing a good job with it, you're just not that helpful to the people that COULD be helping you, instead you want to take the time to tell someone 'go use the search feature'....if you don't want to take the time to explain the problem (maybe they ALREADY looked at it and didn't understand), then don't post at all

Perhaps we should add a disclaimer saying we provided the software as-is without any support. That'd solve a lot of complaints like this, we have enough to do without you demanding for more.

I know that as a private server provider, I have really no judgment to call here, but have you even tried looking?

I mean seriously... In the Support Forum (which logically would be your first place to check) At the very top is this
Supgee's Official DOL HOWTO
It's even a STICKY! This leads me, and probably others to believe that you haven't even tried looking for help. All that aside if you do a search for "Server Setup" you get 148 pages... sure. But considering it's a search engine, similar design as Google, but for this forum, you'd try different queries to find what you're looking for... such as... "DOL Setup" (126 pages)...

My point being is you didn't do a decent search.

Anyway, what I assume you're looking for is the setup guide for servers, so here it is...

I don't know if that would help Etaew, I'd still be asking questions that everyone in the DoL seems to know, except me :)

And what questions are not being answered? Every question that I've asked has been answered so far. (Cept the one that is in the Support section now, hint, hint)

Anyway, thses guys do a great job, and they listen to us whine when we break something :)

I would normally like to see a support team within the project, but we don't really have anyone who considers themselves part of the project enough and has energy to do so, I'm physically exhausted.

That's the point, he didn't search at all to find Supgee's guide. He just followed the menu links on the left to the wiki, which is outdated.

There have been whiny ass posts like this on DOL forums as long as I've been around...if it stopped happening, I'd be worried.

It's not DOL if people aren't bitching about you not doing everything for them and then telling them how cool their shitty servers are...

The bit that throws people about the search is the format, and I'd love to see it revamped someday.

Currently, typing 'DOL Setup' will not work as a search. People need to type 'DOL AND Setup' to search both of those keywords. Alot of people miss that, and I think that's where some confusion comes out of.

Searching 'DOL Setup' - 3139 matches.

Searching 'DOL AND Setup' - 105 matches.
The Marvelous Contraption begins to stir...

People just need to read the entire page.

Search for any terms or use query as entered
Search for all terms

obviously you pick the bottom option.
