New Website

Postby azraelelf » Mon Aug 04, 2014 8:15 pm

I don't know if posting like this is allowed but I just wanted to do a shoutout to a website that I made for my "guild". I'm going to have info about the template I'm using for each of my characters / classes, a complete list of all the trinket drops (since Tola's page is down and I know he's busy as hell), plus there is also a hosting for the required game.dll file needed for the free shards. Please feel free to give out the link to this file to everyone so that mediafire isn't required (I hate waiting, I hate the "lines" to download and the horrible speeds). The page at the moment isn't done, but I just wanted to throw it up here to see what people thought. If anyone else has a guild they would like to get free hosting on, let me know and I would be more than willing to host it on my domain. Or, I can host an actual domain on my webserver as well... for just $1 per month. Only reason I charge the $1 is the cost of additional IP addresses lol.

Thanks!

I should have posted these a long time ago when I took down my web server. These are out of date, but what's there is still correct as far as I know. I have very little time these days but hopefully I can find the SQL scripts I used to create these lists and update them at some point.

If you need them hosted so you don't have to worry about them, I'd be more than willing to help. Just shoot me a message, they come straight to my phone! I will integrate this as soon as I can Tola!

Btw, thank you all for your kind words. It was super quick job. The only thing on it that I'm super proud of is the head banner. First time tinkering with Photoshop... lol

There, all the pages that you posted here are integrated. Let me know what you think. Had to shrink the images a bit so they would fit, but it works lol.

Looks good. I'm hoping to get a little time this weekend and if I can find the SQL script is used to create these I'll run an update and post them. The source says I used Heidi SQL but this old brain remembers nothing about it. :)

Thanks for hosting this. I don't run a web server here anymore because I didn't have time to keep up with all the security patches / issues. Port 80 is nothing but trouble. I was thinking, at some point, I might host these on a shared google docs site so people can access them ... but your site works great for this.

Thank you Tola! Whatever you want to host or whatnot, let me know and I will help you out. I don't ever host anything here at home for that exact reason. I would also like, at one point (and I know it's a big task) to do our own beastiary of where all the monsters are located throughout the game. Not the normal monsters as much as the special named monsters. There are a couple right now who has loot I want lol. Shoot me a message if you'd like and let me know what you'd like to throw on the website!

We had a bunch of quest images created and posted here at some point, but we lost the player and the host. I copied them all here:

Can you see those images, or do I have to set permissions?

Yes I can see them. I will begin incorporating these as well. I'm beginning work on a beastiary as well so if a player looks at the special drops list, they can click on the monster that drops it for a page on info about the mob as well as a map and such. Sort of like a wiki without the wiki (I had a wiki and they can be a pain in my ass). I will post progress as I go.

Don't forget to take advantage of our showroom for images. Graveen worked on this a couple of years ago.

If you view the individual picture you'll see the URL format.

Thanks Adekhine. Tola, I checked the link you gave me (very helpful btw) and it doesn't have any of the mobs that I'm doing. I did a search for "Coldworm" and came up empty. It's okay. It'll be a good teaching experience for me to find them all. I accept any screenshots of mob pictures (and map on screen) and I will add them in as well.

Update: I have Coldworm the Burrower's page done. As I go through the loots on the special drops page, any mob that drops it will have it's own page to make it easier for players to easily click on the name to find out where to farm at.

Just my little contribution to the kick ass community!

Btw, if anyone wants to take screenshots and doesn't know the command, hit Alt+Z to hide the UI and hit '-' on the keypad (minus symbol) to take a screenshot. On Windows 7, screenshots are saved to C:\Users\yourname\My Documents\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\. To prefix your screenshots, type /sshot name... I.E. /sshot Boss and they will number as: Boss-01.jpg, Boss-02.jpg, etc.

Screenshot/UI Hiding is dependent on your keyboard settings, FPS to hide the UI is the [Tab] key, but the Num-Pad - (minus) key is still the screenshot if i remember correctly.
