How can I start in windowed mode?

Postby coladirneza » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:57 pm

Greetings,

I'm just getting installed and setup here, and I've come across a little snag. Due to my hardware limitations, I'm unable to play in DAoC's native resolution. I've read that I need to play the game in windowed mode. Unfortunately, I cannot progress to the game's options menu in order to choose windowed mode because it will not run to get there. I'm trying to run in 1024x600, btw.

Is there an edit or another way that I can choose to start the game in windowed mode without having to login first?

Thank you.

user.ini IIRC, windowed= 1 perhaps? Not 100% sure, but I know it lives in an INI file with the other DAoC config files.

I did a search for user.ini but didn't come up with anything.

I had a new thought just now, actually. I'm going to hook my box up to a desktop monitor in order to log into the game and then configure it to always start in windowed mode. Hopefully this will allow the game to start in windowed mode when I switch back to my netbook's screen as the primary display.

its user.dat

Win7 (adi think Vista also):

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\LotM\user.dat
Code: Select all
[main]
...
windowed=1
...
