This patch is mostly bug-fixes and to re-familiarise ourselves with the patching process.

Windows 7 64bit, UAC enabled and run as administrator.

Try disabling UAC during the update (and re-enable afterwards)? In the error is "system.unauthorizedaccess", which probably occurs when the update tries to modify or write files, and you mentioned UAC is enabled which could be the problem.

Disabling UAC didnt help, exactly same error.

Do you have any security software running that might prevent it from modifying files? If so try disabling that too.

Good point, didnt even think of that. I got McAfee running, but disabling it didnt help either.

Do you know if any other people have this same problem? I could try to dig into what exactly is failing.

I haven't seen any other issues like this, looks like you may be the only one experiencing this problem.

happens to me sometimes too. what i do is this, i mark in the freeshard tab storm as my server and then i switch to the IRC tab and connect, then i switch back to the freeshards tab and log in as i would do normally.
