Gaia Mode

Suggestion: A new mode could be added to the game called Gaia Mode.

Summary: Rather than playing D2 in the traditional sense, roles will be reversed and your character will play as a mob in this mode. This mode will focus on quests/tasks instead of leveling; with the reward being the unlocking of higher level mobs to play as.

Description: In order to change to Gaia Mode, a special Mode Changer should be added to the outskirts of Cotswald, perhaps at the tower to the South East of Town at /location: 19373, 30979, 3022, Camelot Hills. Inside of this tower, there should be a Mode Changer Orb that can change between the other modes and Gaia Mode and a Quest Giver / Morph Changer (named Gaia). Gaia Mode should be accessible after Realm or Hell mode and posses similar (or maybe more) penalties; while in this mode, characters would lose access to all their abilities but maintain their gear. Gaia would grant one free mob form, ideally a mob from the area (I am thinking maybe a Brownie) and set the character on the path (through quests) to gaining more mob forms.

Logistics:
Mob Forms: Should be at a set level and unlocked through quests. There should be one primary quest line that parallels the quest line of the normal mode and many additional tasks and quests to unlock additional mob forms.

Primary Quest Line: (Parallel to Primary Quests in Normal Mode)
***All of the targets for these quests should be realm guards that are made to look like live players (perhaps, for kicks, they could be a random player from the server) that spawn upon entering a location in Gaia Mode.
Quest 1: Protect Dippelfritz from assassination, (Gives access to a mob similar to Corpsefire or one of the mobs near him).
Quest 2: Protect Corpsefire from assassination. (Gives access to a mob similar to Raven or one of the mobs near her in the cemetery.
and so on; I think the idea should be clear now.

Optional Quest Lines: (These are to give access to different mob forms that can be used in lieu of the primary quest mob form to complete quests)
For these quests there should be things like; Assassinate X Player (Where the player is a realm guard like before but existing permanently in the world somewhere); Take over X Town (Places like West Down, Ludlow, etc. defended by regular realm guards, and maybe an additional random realm guard player); Kill X Number of Mobs (To restore balance); Kill a Player with PVP Flag on (Would require the addition of the command /pvp on and /pvp off, so people could choose to participate in player versus human-played mob)

Abilities: The mob forms would have whatever abilities that the real mob would have (which is most likely nothing) but retain player gear so that they are able to pitch a decent fight.

Awesomness ^^^^

so... are you a shape shifter? or are you shifting consciousnesses to different mobs?

gotta have cool abilities. whats the point of bein a badass monster if you only get to punch people? mix and match from the different classes would probably be best.

A Shapeshifter would be able to change themselves; whereas this would be imposed by Gaia; so your player would be shape-shifted but wouldn't be a shapeshifter (like with stag or vendo from).

I agree, they should have some sort of power to make it more interesting! ;-)
