Unable to connect. Hit ESC

Hi

Since yesterday, the loading screen does not complete and I get a message saying "Hit Esc."

I don't know if this is a result of me subscribing to DAOC again on Friday but, since then, I cannot seem to connect. Am I able to pay for the actual game and still connect to DoL? Or does paying for the game affect connection to DoL?

I think, because when resubscribing you have raised your client to the latest version, while DOL only support 1.109.

I advice you to simply handle 2 copies, one for official, and the other for freeshards.

I'll create a new folder then reinstall the client there if I can find it again. I think I found it on Uthgard's page.

Edit:

It's asking for me to uninstall DAoC. If I keep the DAoC portal and DoL data in a different folder than the legitimate DAoC, I shouldn't have any problems with the legitimate DAoC updating it's client, right?

I'm back in game. Thanks for the help. First, I simply copied everything from the official folder into the DOL folder. Next, I replaced the official game.dll with version 1.109 game.dll within the DOL folder. That's all I did.

Yep, it's that easy, but for some reason many get tripped up on that last step.

Pardon, I am new to all of this. (Only having found it all about 3 hours ago)

I went to downgrade my DAOC folder after making a separate location for shards, and I can't seem to find the game.dll that is mentioned above.

I have the DOL server, as well as DAOC Portal software, both are installed, but uh, yea.....

Not sure what to say. It's either there or it isn't. Are you running a fully patched version of the game that you can play? If so, game.dll IS there.
