Item Templates and /item create #

Ok, I'm just curious about something. Item Templates are the numbers the /item create command are based off correct? Does this mean to create, say, a chain hauberk I can just type /item create 41 and I will have a chain chestpiece, or do I need to indivually create every item I want to use in the gameserver.exe item template section :o. All I've changed so far is the model on the Sword Of Deamons example...

Oh and another thing. Is there any way we could pull a weapon out, as if we were in combat stance at the moment? Trying to draw your weapon gives you a no combat message, but all I want to do is look at particle effects and take cool screenshots :p

Hay Ed!
You are right, currently you will have to define and create every item-template that you want to use with the "/item create" command. We don't have any predefined templates yet. In the future when our beloved DataLogging team makes progress in logging items we will ship out DOL with loads of predefined items.

And currently, there is no way you can pull out your weapon. I am sorry, but to try out weapons and look at the particle effects, you will have to make a mob and equip the mob with the item and then put the mob into attack on something or someone. I have included a example script in the scriptrepository of the DataLogging team to show how to make fighting NPC's...

No worries Smallhorse..I've just finished defining an example item of every armour/weapon slot thats visible, and seeing as i'm mainly doing it to explore looks, i'll just change the model # and it'll do me fine. Shame about the no combat stance but I understand. I will get to using more scripts soon. Thanks for the help.

I am very interested in doing the item database for the game, are there anyone doing that atm? Also, i have opened the gamedata.mpk file and see a lot of csv file in it, what is the program to view them plz?

Hi Mcvities, I'll leave the logging side of things up to the people who know, but the program to view .csv is Camelot Sharp. One of the attached programs, Pak Viewer, allows you to open .mpk/npk files and read them as .csv files.

Search for Camelot Sharp as I do not have a link I'm afraid :p Good luck.

Also, when I tried to do /mob equip <slot> command, i found that the <slot> can be torso, leg, hand, arms, cloak. but I do not know the other command for helm, boots, right hand, left hand, 2 hand. If anyone know about this plz tell me :)

i have found the program from camelot sharp and manage to open the gamedata.mpk, and i have extract the csv file out, but what program do i need to use to view the .csv file?

Yes the Datalogging team is trying to start to log items from the game. Please contact Akira! They certainly can need ANY and EVERY help they can get as there are a lot of items in game!

Btw. the <slot> in /mob equip ... can be
righthand
lefthand
twohanded
distance
head
hands
boots
torso
cloak
legs
arms

You can find these in the "global.cs" file in your /scripts directory.

Also ... CSV ... those files can be opened with any text-editor you like. You can also import those files in EXCEL and tell the programm that the columns are seperated by a comma (,) then it will be formatted correctly!

Tnx very much Light!

A little question, i trying open NIFs by camelotsharp nif viwer, but files not opens,
and in error message, i see:

System.IO.FileLoadException: This is not a NetImmerse file...

why it happens? this utility developed for daoc, so why it nop open nifs? =(((
