DOL doesn't have to be DAOC. If you want DAOC you can also play on live . I mean people you always have these 13$ a month , don't you ..... DOL is for fun and for custom ideas..... I think that is why Mythic doesn't do anything ..... Live is totally different...

masterfreek64; All of your posts have made no sense to me. It just seems like you want everything for the sake of having it. If you want me to take your opinion on database releases seriously, please contribute to the database. You find bugs on the OFFICIAL server, then report them on the BUG section. Till then, your opinion really means nothing to me. Sorry, but I'm being blunt.

There are a few people who post on this forum (who arn't part of the team, and who I won't mention, for their sake) who's opinion I'll take into consideration when talking about databases, these people offer support to the public and to the staff when they can.

I'll make you a deal:

I'll give you a TOTAL database, no questions asked.. BUT, this database will be 1 1/2 years old (in SQL format, as I'm nice) and will have NO changes made to it. The exact same databases from Rum&Code from over a year ago. Deal? :) Means you'll get to add in everything myself and my team have done. Then you can release that to the public when you're at our stage. Deal? kk :)

Since I am not talking about the DB you make no sense to me.
I am talking about the DOL source code here ....
It is written in c# and can usually be downlaoded from SVN , unlike the DB ^^....

I sent an open letter to the Uthgard staff asking them to open their sources.

You actually did credit me but you didn't credit uthgard. I released some code to DOL that I created for uthgard in the past (more than half a year after ending my first employment there).

For the fact that Blue and I were always trying to help you, your stateming is bashing our project pretty much to the ground. Did you forget about the hardcore performance fixes that you received?

Just remember what code we gave and in what quality it was. You know damn well you got some stuff that even you weren't able todo by yourself not mentioning most of the dol developers out there. It dont think it is fair to bash uthgard because it is successful.

1,5 years ago Uthgard was almost dead thanks to its distribution policy with dol. What did DOL do for us back then? To tell you the truth.. we didn't hear very much from you guys and still we continued to contribute things. Blue has been a DOL developer himself for a long time when DOL was still walking in his children shoes. He has paid plenty in contributions.. so just quit it.

And stop to say "OMGOMGOMG GPL HURT!". Because it is not true.

As masterfreek66 posted parts of the GPL on page 2 of this thread (but did he even try to understand it?!).

WE ONLY HAVE TO RELEASE THE SOURCE CODE IF WE RELEASE BINARYS.

Why do these flame wars always break out when someone with very few posts says something? Who's mad at who here?

Sometimes it seems like you all are looking for something to fight about.

Who's mad at who and why?

Locking the thread, we all dislike eachother, but we all know who is in the right.
