Site Review

Postby Etaew » Tue Sep 18, 2007 12:29 pm

The way the site is presented needs an overhaul, I'd like to open a debate about changes to navigation and content on the site, the follow is a model based on phpBB.

- Missing Database Tracker

I really like this section. Will allow us to better show the community what we're doing. Also, if I may request can we steer away from the hover-move-hover-click navigation bar, that thing drives me nuts sometimes :).

The TO PLACE things look like they all could go into the same place (except Server List). They all have some commonality of 'coding'. So, maybe something called 'Code Corner', 'Coding', 'Coding Tools'?

We could indeed follow the design of phpBB on that too, and have just the headers clickable, and the subsections as links on that page.

Heh, I still need convincing, can you come up with one based on the above information which links to pages so we can do some testing about the load of it.

I'm sorry to bring this up, but what about something that is 'worldofwarcraft.com' styled? Where you can click on the header and it drops down the list of 'subsections'. Is that possible (I like that functionality a lot!)?

I actually want to move away from the vertical navigation bar and have a horizontal one, but we'll see how it looks. Hard to find time for this right now.

imo the top menu (Home • About • Downloads • Support • Development • Community) should remain even in the forum section.
