While crappy, it is classic DAOC. My two cents: I love the quests idea but it should be an alternative to the grind. Don't penilze those who still choose to grind, just supplement the option to grind with this alternative.

Let me tell you this, people will choose the fastest method to grind if they're given the choice. Just like if someone wants a bb in rvr immediately, guess what, you just got another i50 character, lol. People will take the easiest route because it means less time.

So, my thought is, if people are going to want an xp system based on quests (which I personally like...) they should not be given the option, this should be forced to this as part of gameplay as if it has always been there. But, if this is implemented I sense a slower leveling system coming about, which could mean even less people attracted to the server. OR!!! People could be attracted to it because it is different and people will like to try it out. It will either go in one of those two directions because of how different this would be, compared to other servers. Also, some of the staff on DoL would consider this as another "non-live" scenario.

FYI, on Live (Ywain) there is now a PL spot which you can do 1-50 in about 5 hours. So, even live is realising that 50 is endgame. Was an interesting read on another forum I use.

Fastest xp on live is a bomb group at finns south of Bolg. Red and purple instant respawn mobs that are spirit weak.... SM bomb group = Yummy

I used to be big in sm bomb pling, to give free pls to all guildies, but it killed me inside . Wasnt uncommon for 1-50 in a few hours before catacombs expansion (which was very very fast!) with such a method .
