Can't get rid of "Server Not Available"

I just learned about the existance of DoL yesterday, so I am definitely a newbie, but I am a programmer that is familiar with networking. So, I figured I could get this setup without too much hassle. Well, I am having problems...

I am running DAoC version 1.68. I have DoL version 1.5.1.1987 and I'm using my internal IP address of 10.99.10.4 to run the server on port 10300. I have the TCP, UDP, and Region settings to my 10.99.10.4 address with the ports 10300, 10400, and 10400 respectively.

I am using the German launcher program to start DAoC, it gets to the splash screen but I keep getting the "Retrying..." and "Service Not Available" errors. I have tried everything that is mentioned on these forums to get it going.

Is it a problem because I am using a "10" net address? Does the RegionIP really have to be set to an external public IP even if I only want to run the server on my LAN?

My only goal right now is to get the server running on the same machine (localhost) as the client. I'll worry about getting external machines working later.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Your problem is running DAOC version 1.68 ... DOL is NOT compatible with DAOC Version 1.68 ...

Now you have only one possibility, patch to 1.67 using the european patch-servers (and SAVE the game.dll before they also patch to 1.68) or ask someone in IRC where you can get a 1.67 version file ...

The problem is, in Version 1.68 Mythic changed all packets and all encryption ...

Thanks Smallhouse, but what are the European server addresses? I had them this afternoon, but can't seem to find them on the forums anymore.

Whooops! Sorry about the name mix-up... must have been a brain fart.

Nevermind about the european server addresses, I found them and was able to get everything working. Thanks for the clarification that 1.68 does not currently work with DoL. For some reason I was convinced that some people had it running with that that version. I guess not.

BTW, I registered under the name "Ultimatum", not "FyRbjkprqSo=". Not sure what happened to the registration process there... probably just my luck.

Similar problem as above
since it wont work if using latest patch, I run it with clean install of the game (v 1.04) n plan to update once that lil problem is solved (just wanna test).

Well, I run it plainly on my own computer with the internal ip (127.0.0.1) but it dosnt work.

I followed the "how to" like a slave, yet cant connect to the server. The one thing I can find that seems messed up is this:

From the how to manuall:
To run the gameserver double click on DOL_GameServer.exe and select Start from the Server menu.
Note: make sure that gameserver.ini, GameServer.dll, DOLScriptInterface.dll, and ../scripts are in the same directory.

Well, the files I got from the download page did not contain DOLScriptInterface.dll thou it did have files NOT listed in the how to setup...

so what I do now?

I'm pretty sure DOL v1.5.2 does not support the 1.04 version of the daoc client. change your update.dat file to look at the euro servers as mentioned in some of the 1.67/1.68 posts. That will update you to DAoC v1.67, then download DOL v1.5.2 and you should be good to go.
