hi guys
since frontiers is in closed beta, perhaps a guy have found a link to download it. We can try it later with DOL.
Someone have found a link at this time ?

its easy to do that, since it is just an extension just like housing.
just create a folder called "frontiers" in your daoc folder.
there is just one minor problem with it... the original patcher will not update if the folder is empty.
but this should get some people started.
anyway, it wont help you much, since all the frontiers stuff is in
the 1.69 client, so you need a server that supports the new client
by the way... the frontiers extension is 200mb in size !! lot of new buildings and stuff in there.

so if i put a file like title.tga in the /frontiers directory the auto updater will begin to download the frontiers content inside ?
this doesn't work

apparently i have to create some blank files near key files needed by the game but don't know the files
any help please ? visiting new frontiers in local could be a great experience

no it doesnt work like this.
the original installer has a limit on how many files it will download. if you have none of the files, you cannot use the patcher.
but again. even IF you manage to get the files. you will not be able to use them, unless you get the dol server to work with the 1.70 client

if i launch a server on my pc, i am quite sure i can visit the place
you try to explain me that the 1.70 version doesn't work if i decide to create my own server ?
yeah i remember a trick to download ToA via the patcher :
----
Mythic Patch
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/patcher
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/product
aurl
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/patcher
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/product
mps
30000
----
do i have to use similar trick ?

I messed around with this a bit, seems that the patchdirectory for frontiers is patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/frontiers/
However, i cant get the patcher to get the files, the tupdate.dat file gets checked now when running camtest, not only on date but also on crc it seems, offcourse im no expert...
Anyway, sniffing the communications, i see the update server sending this mpatch.dat:
Mythic Patch
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/patcher
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/product
mps
50
[options]
[New Frontiers]
directory=frontiers
max_patch_size=150
default_url=patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/frontiers/
[/options]
Probably need a bigger mps or max_patch_size.....but im not sure...anyway i give up ;p Let me know if you find out more

Yes, here is a copy and paste of the tupdate.dat for New Frontiers.
Mythic Patch
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/mpatch.dat
patch5.daoc.net:1280/updates/atlantis_test/mpatch.dat
Durring beta they're treating it like the Foundations patching, making use of optional expansion patching mode. The current patched version of New Frontiers installed is 215meg. I would just wait a few days and get into the public beta instead of nosing around the patch servers though.
