When my cousin tries to run daoc portal, Microsoft.net claimer, unhanlded exception has occured in your application, if you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue, if you click quit the application will close immediately. Invalid uri: the hostname could not be parsed. After that another one pops up when he clicks a server that says same thing except at bottom says : Cannot find column [sid].
Any help would be appareciated, bored ripping solo

Reinstall os only other thing. No one else is having the issue. If he's using vista or seven make sure he's running as admin

Have you already completely removed all .net frameworks in add/remove programs, then reinstall?
I am not sure which .net you need for portal, I would probably try going with 3.0 and if that doesn't work then try another.
I am running Windows XP and have .net framework versions 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0. You do not need 4.0 and installing 4.0 won't fix a broken 3.0 as they are independant packages and upgrading don't usually fix a broken app anyway.
Persuming this didn't start on the first install, another thought would be to clean out the daoc portal files in the user profile on the computer as corruption in those files or bad entr could be causing issue. Error is mentioning issue about hostnames and urls and those files do include customlists and favorites.
Location in xp is:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\DAoC Portal

Have him take a screenshot when the error message pops up. What OS is he on? Did you install the latest .NET 4.0 redistributable?
