Epic Mobs vs. Quest Mobs

It seems to me that currently we are treating certain mobs (such as D3) as both an epic mob and a quest mob; and I think maybe we ought to separate the two concepts..

It seems to me; that in the course of leveling/questing all characters will inevitably encounter Diablo/D2/D3/Baal; These mobs are necessary to the progression of the game; and while D3 is viewed as an epic mob (largely due to it being the last one) I still feel that it is more like a Quest Mob, necessary for progression of the game. While these encounters should be difficult; ultimately they should really be steps towards completion of the leveling/questing process.

Epic encounters should be designed to require multiple players; in order to effectively complete the encounter.. For Instance Shenk the Drowned; is approaching this level of being an Epic Encounter.. but I think we could make more creative ways to require grouping for epic encounters; I will provide some examples of how epic encounters could be run.

-You could have an epic mob that will heal based on the health of an object (Maybe an Obelisk?) across the room; If the Obelisk across the room maintains over 50% health, the epic mob could gain damage immunity.. meaning you will need at least two people to do the encounter..

-You could also have a mob that will switch between immunity to physical and magical damage... It could switch between an immunity to magic and melee every 10% of it's health...

-Another Idea for an epic encounter would be too keep mobs from running up to the epic mob to keep it from powering up... it could gain maybe 25% health each time one of the mobs from a door way makes it to the epic mob...

Setting up the epic encounters to inherently require grouping; would require grouping, and active non-bot like grouping too.. they would also not be an impediment to the leveling/quest grind.... creating an end game without changing the game progression into the end game...

We need DRAGONS on this sever... and I for one think we need all three in one encounter (Maybe I am crazy).. To make it interesting (and require grouping) you could have the dragons spawn after 10seconds of being dead, if all the dragons aren't killed at the same time.. forcing you too play with several players and coordinate your killings..
