I wish for that back. A perfect Daoc for me is no further than Shrouded Isles and maybe not even that far. But I like the first new frontiers and housing. Oh and auto loot. Auto loot is the shit.

Uthgard is a good alternative if you wish old school daoc. no more than classic incluiding old frontiers and sometime in the future even shrouded isles. you'll never again come so close to your dreams as on Uthgard.

just my two cents

Uthgard is not close enough to classic for me to play it. :(

Auto loot is the shit.
You are right and changing it is a painful task. Forums periodically sink in flames when we do backpatches ;)

This is my perfect old school of course.

the perfect old school is the old graphics, realm guards are level 80 and not 255. big raids groups (for example dragon raid 300 man could cause major lag of course) ( this is optional because it can get bored: slower level xp then uthgard which is the true case took me 1 year for pala i remenber it very well.) Next thing when selecting a char for example a highlander you start in humberton you do there the quests and join with groups. (so the other locations that also were low spots are also going be used.) because these days a lot of the old low level regions arent nearly even used. I know why of course and i could understand aswell. but the old school daoc i remenber had less of such a problem.

if you do not agree, then very well. Everyone got their own opinion and I respect them.

Old starter towns are a confirmed feature of Uthgard. We will do that. Thats an important part of the classic experience.

If Uthgard raised xp just a little bit. That would ease my pain. I'd like if catacombs graphics could be disabled server wide lol. and if the original dragonfang and or second gen beartooth could come back. One of the other.

Baradien you and I should make a legit classic server. I need to quit my job and play more daoc.

We have zones where you get a ton of xp. In most cases the camp bonus alone caps you already. Otherwise: DF static +25% XP. OF dungeons: +50% XP bonus. Frontiers: various XP bonuses up to 50%. (These bonuses add to the cap).

Slow XP and challenging environment even if no-one believes me is important for community building and binding.

I agree, rather doing that than giving players everything very rapidly so they get bored very fast and will not have a "connection to their char" imo.

Yesterday I was playing just to see whats going on in the uth community. The XP cut in half after just 2-3 mobs even large distances a part. From 13million to 6million XP. I got one bubble after about two hours even with the realm bonus and I couldn't bare to play any longer.

As for connection to their chars, I can't make a connection to my char if its more work than fun. And I tell you slaving mob after mob after two hours to get one bubble is not fun for me.

In reality the bonuses you are talking about actually promote RVR and not XP. Lure the PVE out into RVR with promise of high XP with risk of death to RVR.

But Obviously some people like it. There was over 1000 players at the time.
