I said Daoc, not Dol :(

But if you make a linux version of DOL, I'll don't blame you :D

I'm excited to see how this is going to work.

I'm expecting to do a rebuild on the Linux server within two weeks. Wouldn't be all that bad if I got my hands on a Linux DOL client some time after the rebuild. <smiles>

With all due respect, I do not feel like running DOL or the DOL login client under WINE/WINEX.

If you can provide information as to how to do this without the use of an emulator, please provide a link and I shall be most grateful.

He was speaking of DAoC (and not DOL), because that's the topic.

Well that's gotta be cool (now on the "CORRECT" subject) lol

Tell me please, is running DAoC on Linux's WineX worth it Nocturnos? I have heard several people complain about speed issues using 3D games (such as Warcraft III) on Linux's WineX.

Personally, if there is no speed issue, I would much rather use Linux over Windows. Could you also let me know what Linux brand you are using? (eg. Redhat, Mandrake, Lindows, etc (and the version please)) Thanks in advance.

Well with 1.63 there is a bug that makes you spin like mad untill you move.

I am running SuSE Linux 8.2 Professional with NVidia video card and newest drivers for linux. I am using original Transgaming package of wineX 3.2.
I can guarantee following games running under linux 100%:
Warcraft III, Deus EX, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 , Icewind Dale 1 (couldn't start IwD 2), Morrowind (although a bit more resusrses needed for that one), Diablo 2,Max Payne 1 and 2, Homeworld 2, DAoC (I have no expansions, so never tested those).
For DAoC all you need is go check the transgaming forums. There is a link in the DAoC section to an arhive with .dll files. Use those and run the game. Patcher works, game vertion 1.67 works perfectly (some people are complaining about huge lag, never experienced such problems), with 1.63 there is the above mentioned bug. Only thing that isn't working here is the mythic splash screen( the one with the candle).

Try running those without the nvidia/ati linux drivers and I guarantee you the same experience trhat you would get if morrowind evenm started on Pentium 1. With the drivers there is no difference between linux and windows.
