Hi, i need to know is there is anyway to play a freeshard without using DaoC Portal.

Im asking this because i have a problem with my conection because i am under a router that has ports closed. So you may say "then its imposible to play" but i found a tool called Your-Freedom and another one called SocksCap. With them i was able to play Wow Servers and so on.
Well i was able to download the patch from Mythic using this "cheat:P".So i tried to run DaocPortal using SocksCap but it says "Retry Conection ... Service Unavalible" so i am not able to connect... so, for making Daoc working with DaocPortal i will need or runing directly Camelot.exe changing Ips on some file or whatever ...

I mentioned this before but I think noone knew what I was talking about or how to solve this problem. Anyway, even if you get it to work, the game will be unplayable due to the bandwidth limitation of the Your Freedom servers.
Got the same thing at university, you'll just have to deal with it I guess.

I dont think it ll be unplayable , as i told , i am able to play free servers of Wow with a very decent lacency , but if u tell me that u dont know any way to make it work , that is where we have to study the problem

it is a service which allows you to open an http tunnel with them and your machine i guess. If they support udp if could work yes

but i think increased latency

which files in the DAoC folder do you edit with the server IP / port to login directly through camelot.exe without daocportal? and whats the IP / port?

and how we can use it? Parameter list or something like that?

if we can put Dolloader.exe (correctly) in the SocksCap Lists, ppl will be able to play using Your Freedom... Not bad idea!

dolloader.exe game.dll 1.1.1.1 10300 1 username password

replace 1.1.1.1 with the server ip

hm ok ive sorted out DoLLoader but now i cant find the server IP Lol.

Look on the DaoC Portal list, click on the server, you will see the details.

I got a problem doing this.
I used a shotcut with the parameters and its runs ok (but no conection of course) then i use the same link into the SockCaps program and i get this error: "Dolloader Error! Memory Read error in Child Process"

Any ideas?

PD: i tryed using SocksCap with Cmd and the execute DOlloader and still doesnt work... maybe Dolloader doesnt like SocksCap?

well i got this problem almost done.

now i am using Freecaps and without doing anything i get to the select character screen, but it takes me to the desktop when the loading screen completes ( i even hear the game music).

Any idea?

Sorry if i rez this old post, but it explain the problem that i have..

When i try to connect on Uthgard using a proxy and freecap for the change ports, i can connect to the charscreen, but when i click play and the loading bar reach the 100%, the game istantly close and return me to desktop without any error..

But if i try to connect to another shard, i can play easly without any problem...

Anyone know why that happen with Uth? And maybe why and what i can do to fix that problem?
